Overwatch 2 One-Punch Man collab brings Kiriko

Blizzard Entertainment is introducing the first big crossover between Overwatch 2 and One-Punch man on March 7. The collaboration event was announced in February as part of Season 3 of Overwatch 2. At the time, the studio revealed the Saitama-inspired skin for Doomfist. . Now, Blizzard is revealing the second skin coming of this event: Kiriko, dressed as Terrible Tornado.

The Terrible Tornado skin for Kiriko will come as part of a new bundle. It costs 2,100 Overwatch Coins and also includes the Terribly Impressive Victory Pose and the Terrible Tornado name card. The big news was revealed via the Xbox Wire.

The Overwatch art director Dion Rogers told Xbox Wire that the game’s approach to integrating One-Punch Man into its world is literal cosplay. “That’s our approach; that our heroes are basically aware of the anime and are fans too. Roger says “They’re cosplaying as the heroes. So when you see Domfist wearing the Saitama outfit, he’s a fan too”.

There are more collab events coming to Overwatch 2?

The collaboration event between Overwatch 2 and One-Punch Man will still be available until April 6. Blizzard promises to bring a set of skins and a custom loading screen. Worth noting that One-Punch Man is the Overwatch franchise’s second major external skin collab. To those unaware, in 2019, Blizzard and The Lego Group teamed up to bring a Lego-themed Bastion Skin and an in-game challenge to the original Overwatch. Perhaps with the launch of Overwatch 2, we will see a lot more partnerships.

If there is a game that proved that these collab events can be successful, this game is Fortnite. The Epic Games battle role had the most unusual partnerships bringing skins from Spider-Man to Dragon Ball Z. We’re curious to see if Blizzard plans to follow a similar approach with Overwatch 2.

The game is currently in Season 3 which started on February 7. The season will go on through mid-April. The season will also include another special event, Pachi Marchi, which starts March 21.
